Fitbit Ionic

The Fitbit Ionic's unveiling wasn't a massive surprise, considering the company's high-profile acquisitions of smartwatch makers Pebble and Vector, and then contactless payment specialist Coin.
Pros:
  • Lightweight and comfortable
  • Solid exercise tracking including swimming
  • Typical Fitbit activity and sleep tracking
  • Gorgeous screen
  • Impressive battery life
Cons:
  • Shortage of apps
  • Occasionally slow OS
  • Passive notifications
  • Tedious music transfer
  • Quick release strap quality control

Nice to look at, bit not all the features.

The watch is great to use as a fitness monitor. However, as a smart watch it is lacking in features. I cannot use the Fitbit Pay APP, because my bank is not on the Fitbit list. I can see my Texts and Messages, but I cannot reply like I can on my Samsung Gear S2.

Fitbit Ionic Smartwatch Small/Large

I had this watch just over a year until it just died on me one night. It still had 50% battery but it would not turn on or do anything! After going through all the troubleshooting steps I was informed by Fitbit that i was out of the 1 year warranty and they don't offer any repair services.

Huge improvement over the Blaze

Have been playing around with the Ionic for over 24hrs now and absolutely loving it. Display has improved significantly over the Blaze. Loving the magnetic charging cable over the Blaze's clunky charging cable.Heaps of watch faces to choose from. App Store still new offering very little options.

Known GPS Issues

When I say know, obviously I didn't know about the problem until after I had purchased it. But after the first use with huge distance errors I searched the internet and found a Fitbit Community help page for the GPS problem that went back to October of 2017.The problem is that somehow Fitbit...

Disappointed: Not as described with reference to payments capability

Payments made easy Fitbit Ionic includes a built-in NFC chip, which lets you store and use your credit cards right on the watch with just a few simple swipes. The above is the claim in the product description on the John Lewis website.

Great watch for mountain biking.

Great watch for biking. I had a Fitbit charge 2 hr. this does everything it does and much more. Best thing is the built in gps which means I don't need to risk taking my phone to track route in Strava. Waterproof means now worries in heavy rain when biking.
