For Honor Review – Ridiculous Yet Authentic Action

When I first heard about For Honor, I was ready to dismiss it as a pointless hack and slash attempting to cash in on the Dark Souls hype. It's embarrassing to admit this given how wrong I was, and given how little I knew about the game, but having spent some serious time with For Honor, it's obvious...

For Honor review

The campaign's story falls to earth with a thud, and technical problems are currently marring its online component, but For Honor 's masterful presentation and combat rescue it from mediocrity. Given a few patches, it'll be a force to be reckoned with.
Pros:
  • Fluid, tactical combat
  • Clever level design
  • Beautiful presentation
Cons:
  • Connection problems and other technical quirks hamper the multiplayer
  • Campaign story has lofty goals, but doesn't manage to reach them

"Strong battles, weak fun"

From Ubisoft you can always expect similar content for many games repeated all over again. This title is trying to avoid this prejudice pretty originally. Under the cover of technical problems and often discussed in-game payment system for cosmetics and credits is hidden real diamond in terms of...
Pros:
  • Big battles
  • combat system
  • Graphic looks nice
Cons:
  • Repetitive pretty soon
  • The need of opened ports

Half a game....

It's an interesting game. It has so much potential. But after a few hours, you quickly realize that this is really a "half-assed" game. It appears the idea was developed without ever even considering the possibility for a single player campaign. There is literally no story here.
