The iX100 is an update to a 2014 Editors' Choice product by the same name that, at the time, was one of the most impressive portable document scanners we'd ever seen. While the ScanSnap iX100's hardware is primarily the same, its software bundle is entirely different, and is perhaps one of the most comprehensive collections of portable document scanner utilities we've ever seen. I admit that the main reason I accepted this evening invitation was to see the view from the top of The Shard, sadly the 34th floor was the highest we got but this amazing portable scanner made up for the disappointment initially felt.

Necessary accesory

It fits the scanner and protects it well, and that is probably the most important thing. If you have bought the scanner, you should also buy this.

Good scanner; setting it up is a nightmare

It comes with a CD & USB cable (my mac doesn't have either). There are NO instructions for setup without CD \ USB. In the end I was able to set it up with using their iPhone app, but it was really non intuitive and took more than an hour. Now that it works, I like it.
