Overall one cannot ask for a better "normal", 50mm-equivalent-FOV lens for m4/3s at this price. If one doesn't need or want f/1.4 or even f/0.95, then this is a no-brainer to buy. I used the Panny 20/1.7 before but find I don't "see" photographically with a 40mm-equivalency.
- Very solid and well-made
- Mounts to camera body (Oly E-PL1) tightly and securely
- Over time never any wobble whatsoever
- Very sharp, high-resolution even wide open at f/1.8
- Bokeh is smooth and pleasant
- Included lens hood
- Focuses fast and sure even on this "older" camera body
- A bit flimsy lens hood mount but hardly use it so no big deal
- Thus the 4 instead of 5 for build quality
- (I'd rate it 4.5 but that's not possible above.
Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f1.8 Review (Review Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f1.8)
The Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f1.8 is an excellent standard-angle lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras, and an affordable alternative to Panasonic's lens.- Wide aperture., Impeccably sharp., Minimal distortion., Compact., Includes lens hood.
- Lacks focus clutch., Not weather sealed.
Great all around lens
I have only used these lenses for two long weekends, and took hundreds of shots. City shots, nature, night shots, portraits. I hesitated buying them a lot given I have the 12-35mm Panasonic Lumix already. It was worth it.
great lens, great price, great pictures!!
this is a great lens!!! I think its better than the 14~42mm kit lens I have for my E~510....got a $15 adapter and both have worked just fine for me....I rather prefer having this lens on versus the 14~42 digital lens...
Olympus 25mm f/1.8 M.Zuiko Digital review by romeo
After using Nikon (D300/D700) and Sony (NEX-7/A7r) now I use only Olympus. Two body OM-D E-M5, one OM-D E-M5 with 25mm F1.8 and another OM-D E-M5 with 75mm F1.8. No regrets for the past, for me small is beautiful. Image quality of the Olympus with its lens is sharp, beautiful with gorgeous color.- Light - Small - Fast - Sharp - Lens Hood

Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.8 - Review / Test Report
There has been a revival of standard prime lenses in recent years and there's also no shortage of them in the Micro-Four-Thirds system. The Panasonic/Leica Summilux 25mm f/1.4 ASPH comes into mind or the Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95. However, these are rather pricey lenses.
Olympus M.ZUIKO Digital 25mm f/1.8
The Olympus M.ZUIKO Digital 25mm f/1.8 is a fast standard prime lens for the Micro Four Thirds system. Offering a 25mm focal length that's equivalent to 50mm in 35mm terms, a bright maximum aperture of f/1.8 and a silent auto-focus motor, the M.ZUIKO Digital 25mm f/1.8 is well suited to unobtrusive...
Olympus 25mm f/1.8 M.Zuiko Digital

Perfect 'Main' Lens
This is my new 'default' lens for my E-PL5. The perfect combination of photographic speed, bokeh, compactness, light weight, and no-compromises sharpness. While not exactly a macro lens, being able to get as close as 9 inches or so is nice and I have gotten some decent bug shots as a result.- Close Focus
