Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 256GB Black SM-F711BZKEXNZ review

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 is definitely a more polished foldable display smartphone than any of its predecessors. It's tougher, slightly thinner and more portable while also being more affordable at just RM3999.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 256GB Black SM-F711BZKEXNZ review

If you have been with us for a bit, you may know we typically do a couple of videos for new phones. We’ll do a First 10 Things To Do and then a Tips and Tricks video. For the Galaxy Z Flip 3, we’ve condensed those two concepts into a single video, allowing me to get straight to my full review...

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 256GB Black SM-F711BZKEXNZ review

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 benefits from a series of small but meaningful improvements to Samsung’s first folding-screen flip phone that make it almost ready for the mainstream. Open it, and it behaves just like a regular, large-screen premium Android smartphone, but one you can close with a satisfying...
Pros:
  • Pros: a great large screen that folds in half, good cover screen, screen protected when closed, IPX8 water resistant, good cameras, exciting and different, One UI 3 (Android 11) with four years of updates.
Cons:
  • Cons: screen softer and less scratch resistant than a regular phone, no dust resistance, no telephoto camera, only a day’s battery life, expensive.

Pros:
  • Larger, More Useful Cover Screen, Improved Build Quality, Cheaper Price Compared to Last Iteration
Cons:
  • Poor Battery Life, Noticeable Dip in the Crease

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G (256GB, Phantom Black) AU - Pristine review

The original Samsung Galaxy Z Flip was an interesting phone, as it was a throwback to the flip phones that many of us grew up with. But it was a first-generation product and suffered from first-generation issues as a result.
Pros:
  • IPX8 rated, The cover display is actually useful now, It feels like a regular phone when opened, The crease is barely visible most of the time and doesn’t get in the way of navigation
Cons:
  • Battery life is just not great, It’s slippery and cases make it even bulkier, Can’t open it with just one hand, Power button fingerprint reader is awkward to use, Sub-par camera performance

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G (256GB, Phantom Black) AU - Pristine review

Foldable devices aren’t a brand new category in the smartphone world, but they are still in infancy. OK, so maybe not totally infancy, but foldables are still not mainstream, and most users probably won’t be ready to commit to them just yet.
