Excellent quality pictures
Brilliant portrait lens, beautiful Bokeh, lovely in low light for picture quality, focus ring while lovely to spin is a little insensitive for my liking (feels like you have to turn it 5 times around to go from long to short.
Pros:
- Compact
- Build quality
Cons:
- Complicated

Sony FE 50mm f/1.8
This lens has been a long time coming for full-frame E-mount cameras, and it certainly makes a welcome addition to Sony's lens line-up if you're in the market for a fast, well-priced standard prime that offers excellent image quality.

Nice product but only if they deliver it correct.
This is not the correct picture or model presented here. Just returning the received package. They delivered me - FE 50mm F1.8(SEL50F18F) instead of this one as shown in picture - E 50 mm F1.8 OSS (SEL50F18) [...] FE50 mm stands no where close to E50 mm in terms of performance.

Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 review
It's no secret that the Alpha 7 series of full-frame compact system cameras (CSC) has been a runaway success for Sony. By providing excellent image quality in a package that's smaller and more portable than any comparable full-frame DSLR, it has become one of the most popular of the new breed of...

Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS Review
The Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS is a short telephoto lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras. It's a strong performer thanks to sharp optics and optical stabilization. Sony has paid more attention to its full-frame FE lenses in recent years than its APS-C E family, but there are still plenty of photographers using cameras in the Alpha 6000 line. The E 50mm F1.8 OSS ($299.99) covers a short telephoto field of view when paired with an A6000. It's a field of view that's a bit tight for everyday use—the E 35mm F1.8 OSS is a better choice if that's what you want—but it's a solid choice for portraiture. The lens is quite sharp, compact, and affordable, though it lacks the all-weather design you get with a pricier, full-frame FE lens like the Zeiss Sonnar T* FE 55mm F1.8 ZA. Design The E 50mm ($348.00 at Amazon) is rather small, coming in at just 2.4 by 2.4 inches (HD), 7.1 ounces, and supporting 49mm front filters. Its barrel is aluminum, available in your choice of silver or black. A reversible lens hood is included. The lens projects an image circle large enough for use with an APS-C sensor camera, like the Alpha 6000, 6300, or 6500. Its field of v...

Better than expected
I took my time before purchasing this lens, as although I wanted a fast aperture, prime standard lens I was initially put off by some negative reviews out there. There's not too many native options for full frame on Sony cameras without spending silly money.

Awesome pictures
The lens is used on my Sony a6000 the pictures are outstanding, Colors are bright and vibrant, no signs of any distortion, great for low light situations, sometimes slow to focus but a very good lens.
