Nice product but only if they deliver it correct.
This is not the correct picture or model presented here. Just returning the received package. They delivered me - FE 50mm F1.8(SEL50F18F) instead of this one as shown in picture - E 50 mm F1.8 OSS (SEL50F18) [...] FE50 mm stands no where close to E50 mm in terms of performance.
Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS Lens SEL50F18B review
The new Sony FE 50mm F1.4 ZA is impressive. Our friend Roger Cicala over at LensRentals notes its central sharpness performance to exceed even the venerable Zeiss Otus , as well as the Sigma 50mm Art. He even found it to out-perform the 55/1.8 centrally, but fall behind it peripherally.
Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 Review
Most camera marques now have an inexpensive 50mm lens in their ranges. These are often described as "nifty fifties" or "plastic fantastics", the implication being that they are cheap and cheerful, but often superb performers as well.- Excellent central sharpness
- Low central CA
- Very easy to use effectively
- Direct manual focus feature
- No flare issues
- AF slow
- Visible edge CA
- Fairly soft edges
Sony FE 50mm f/1.8
This lens has been a long time coming for full-frame E-mount cameras, and it certainly makes a welcome addition to Sony's lens line-up if you're in the market for a fast, well-priced standard prime that offers excellent image quality.
Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS Lens SEL50F18B review
As an economical way to get a "nifty fifty", the average Sony user probably won't complain about the Sony FE 50mm ƒ/1.8: at $250, it's one of Sony's least expensive lenses, though compared to other manufacturers, there is still a premium price.
Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS Review (Review Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS)
The Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS is a short telephoto lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras. It's a strong performer thanks to sharp optics and optical stabilization.- Wide aperture., Optical stabilization., Crisp optics., Minimal distortion., Compact., Affordable.
- Dim corners., Omits weather sealing., Electronic manual focus.
Great Budget FE Lens For Photography, Not Videography
If you're looking for a Sony FE lens around the 50mm focal length that has a wide aperture, but don't want to break the bank, then this is a solid investment. I managed to get some really decent shots with great shallow depth of field at f/1.8.- Affordable Fe Lens
- Great Shallow Dof
- Lightweight
- Smooth Focus Ring
- Loud Autofocus Noises
Sony E 50mm f/1.8 OSS (SEL-50F18) - Review / Lens Test
The Sony E 50mm f/1.8 OSS is a more than welcome addition to the (rather slim) Sony NEX lens lineup. Technically it is not without flaws. It delivers a very sharp center performance but the corners/borders are soft at large apertures. However, considering the typical applications (e.g.
Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS Lens SEL50F18B review
So far, I obviously believe that you’re getting what you pay for. But at the same time, I tested this lens with the a7r II, which because of its price, doesn’t totally seem like the camera someone may have when getting a lens like this.
