Sony FE 12-24mm F4 G: Good for Sony full-frame mirrorless users
Pros:
- Extremely compact for such a wide zoom
- Excellent image quality
- Fast
- silent and accurate autofocus
Cons:
- Considerable vignetting at 12mm
- Doesn't accept filters

Very compact and very sharp ultra-wide zoom
The FE 12-24mm f/4 G replaced my beloved EF 14mm f/2.8L II. I started my move from Canon to Sony in August 2017. Even though my 14mm functioned very well on my Sony bodies, the adapter that I used didn't allow eye-detection and a few other focus modes that the G and GM Sony lenses can provide.

Sony FE 12-24mm f/4 G SEL1224G
I have used many ultra wides Voigtlander 10mm and 12mm, Rokinon 12mm and 14mm, Sony SEL1018 in full frame mode at 12mm to 18mm. When you go beyond 16mm distortion is going to be there.
Pros:
- Min coma min star trailing @ 30 sec
Cons:
- Larger than SEL1018 No filter threads

Super wide angle
The lens is great for interior architecture shots or landscape use. It's a G lens but it's mostly constructed of plastic so it's fairly light and easy to carry around. AF speed is super fast and it uses a silent motor so no noisy AF focusing sound.

The best wide angle
Purchased 2 weeks ago at a superb price and the lens hasn't been taken of my A7III since.

Exudes quality, performs flawlessly. The expense of G-Master is definitely worth it.

Fast and sharp lens for action shots
Used this lens for bird and nature photography, as well as some action shots using both stabalization modes with great sharp results...

Even great for night photography
Had this lens for more than a year now and it replaced the Canon 11-24mm f4 Canon. I just lost 1 mm in the wide angle side but gained in reduced size and weight. Surprised about the quality for night photography at 12 mm, f 4, 30 seconds and ISO 4000 with tripod.
