Sony ZV-E10 review
The ZV-E10 definitely isn’t perfect, but you can easily argue away the things it doesn’t nail when you consider its price tag. If you shoot 4K video and pan a lot, it’s not for you – that jelly effect is just too real. Drop the resolution to 1080p though, or shoot without aggressively panning (or even better, using a fixed tripod) and its value is hard to overstate. Add to the mix its impressive audio capture options – that three-capsule microphone, plus headphone and microphone ports – not to mention the multimedia shoe mount at the top, and it quickly becomes clear that there’s nothing else quite like the ZV-E10 on the market. As a compact APS-C vlogging option, it’s tough to beat.- Excellent autofocus
- Sharp 4K video
- Fantastic audio options
- Bad 4K rolling shutter
- No in-body image stabilisation
- No touch display

Sony ZV-E10 review
The Sony ZV-E10 is a logical gap-filler in Sony’s lineup. A vlogging-focused camera with an articulating screen, boosted microphones, and a compact body, it’s a powerful little video tool and takes impressive photos. The ZV-E10 definitely isn’t perfect, with its three main limitations being significant rolling shutter when panning, a non-touch menu system, and no 4K capture at 60p (which isn’t common at the price). Get past those limitations though and you'll find an affordable, video-focused hybrid with solid audio options.- Compact size
- Articulating screen
- Great autofocus
- Impressive stills camera
- Solid audio credentials
- Rolling shutter while panning
- No 4K/60p video mode
- Menu system isn’t touch-optimized
- No viewfinder

Sony ZV-E10 Mirrorless Camera White (Body Only) - Brand New review
The Sony ZV-E10 is excellent for vlogging, which is no surprise since this is its main intended use. The camera has a fully articulated screen that lets you monitor yourself while filming.- Fully articulated screen., Great battery life., Excellent overall autofocus., No recording time limit.
- No IBIS., Autofocus isn't as reliable as other Sony cameras., Very noticeable rolling shutter effect.
Sony ZV-E10 review
As a vlogging platform, the ZV-E10 seemingly has a lot to offer: it shoots oversampled 4K/24p video using the full width of its sensor, features a selfie touchscreen, a good built-in directional microphone, headphone/microphone ports and class-leading video autofocus. Battery life is also top of its class and the camera is livestream ready, out of the box. Unfortunately, 4K video capture results in a distracting 'jello effect' for clips with movement and/or fast action. And Full HD video shows poor detail capture compared to the competition.- Vloggers and filmmakers shooting mostly static shots.
- Any form of vlogging that involves movement or capturing fast action. Stills shooters who want a viewfinder.

Sony ZV-E10 Mirrorless Camera White (Body Only) - Brand New review
If I were a vlogger, or aspiring to be one, then the Sony ZV-E10 with its 16-50mm pancake lens would be a very serious contender. The larger APS-C sensor, built-in multi-directional microphone, easy connectivity and the useful, perhaps essential, accessories available all make the kit perfect for...- Light and compact, Capable of high-quality results, Excellent connectivity, Keenly priced, Easy vlogging solution, Wide potential in lens range available
- Some controls fiddly, No weather resistance, Zoom action is not easy to keep smooth when handheld, OSS in lenses only
Sony ZV-E10 Mirrorless Camera White (Body Only) - Brand New review
Along with a few quite advanced features, the Sony ZV-E10 has an attractive specification for novice vloggers, including some clever options such as Background Defocus, Product Showcase and FacePriority exposure, not to forget Sony’s superb autofocusing system.- Designed specifically for vloggers but also a capable stills camera, Great AF system, Good audio options
- Limited use of touch control, Rolling shutter visible, Heavy crop in Active SteadyShot mode
