UE Boom 2: Australian Review
Back in 2013, we were blessed with the launch of the UE Boom -- a small, portable, waterproof speaker that sounded great for its size and had enough battery life to last a full day at the beach.
UE Boom 2 Bluetooth speaker review
Good music is indispensable, but what good is it if you have poor quality audio devices Ultimate Ears (UE) which is owned by Logitech released its Boom speaker in 2013 to rave reviews. UE has updated the Boom to the UE Boom 2 and I requested it to review.- Great volume
- Wonderful audio quality for its size
- Great Bluetooth range
- Block party app feature allows 3 users to alternate playing music to the speaker
- Waterproof up to 1 meter for 30 minutes
- Does not pick up much of the bass frequencies
- Setting the alarm to work properly is not intuitive
- Periodic problems with connectivity within the app
- Periodically the remote "Power On" button was missing in the app
- Expensive
UE has a fabulous Bluetooth speaker here. In my opinion, this one is gonna be hard to beat. I love how ruggedized the build is. A portable speaker should be able to withstand life's perils. The 360-degree sound output is also well-thought; it just makes sense.
UE Boom 2 review: Sounds good, sounds expensive too
Ultimate Ears' UE Boom 2 speaker definitely has some positives such as long battery life, and a good sound quality
Although launched globally nearly a year ago, the speaker was unveiled in India only last month at a price of Rs. 15,995 . There are some improvements over its predecessor, and we've explored these in-depth in our review. Read on to find out everything we know about the UE Boom 2 Bluetooth Speaker.
- Great looks
- Waterproof
- Good battery life
- Open
- detailed and exciting sound
- Good companion app
- Weak sub-bass levels
- Poorly designed controls
Logitech's Ultimate Ears UE BOOM 2 is the successor to its original UE BOOM . This portable speaker fixes some of its predecessor's flaws in the audio department, but remains rather similar to the older BOOM in terms of design and outlook.
UE Boom 2 Bluetooth Speaker Review
The UE BOOM 2 is Jeff's daily driver as far as Bluetooth speakers go. He actually used the UE BOOM before that. Safe to say he (and we) like the BOOM series. In terms of changes, the BOOM 2 has added gesture controls-so now you can tap to pause, double-tap to skip tracks, etc.- 360 degrees of sound
- Very durable
- Waterproof (1m for 30 minutes
- Great battery life (~11 hours
- Gesture system for skipping tracks isn't that efficient
- Bass could be deeper
UE Boom 2
In the pool, at the beach, in the shower or wherever, the UE Boom 2 can survive dunkings and drops -- and sound good doing it. In reviews, it shrugs off testers' abuse better than any other Bluetooth speaker.- Waterproof and drop-proof
- Backyard-filling sound
- Easy-to-tote size
- Handy speakerphone and alarm functions
- Outstanding battery life
- Can't quite match non-portable speakers' sound quality
Improves on the original in every way - the UE Boom 2 is a great ruggedised, waterproof Bluetooth speaker
