Ultimate Ears MEGABOOM 3 - Sunset Red 984-001418 review
Tough, loud and bags of fun. Ultimate Ears’ hot streak continues- Bassier than before
- So very loud
- IP67 makes it even more durable
- PartyUp is a great (if a little terrifying) feature
- Magic Button isn’t magic
- but we’re glad it’s there
- No Spotify playlists
- No USB-C
- We miss the volume strap
Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 review
The Megaboom 3 didn’t have to do a whole lot to build on the brilliant foundations set by its forerunner. It’s still rugged as hell, easy on the eye and gloriously noisy, while the low end enhancements make it easy to recommend. If, like this writer, you’re of the Apple Music persuasion, summoning playlists with the Magic Button is great, and I can see it being a popular feature for those who work out at home. It’s just a shame the Spotify crowd aren’t afforded the same privilege. The speaker feels nice in the hand, but I’m equally happy to fling it into my backpack without a care. For holidays, road trips, festivals and all-day picnics in the park, Ultimate Ears’ latest is a no-brainer. Booming brilliant.- Bassier than before

Ultimate Ears Boom 3 and Megaboom 3: Our New Favorite Bluetooth Speakers Under $200
Ultimate Ears has been making some of my favorite Bluetooth speakers for years, and I'd argue that although the Boom 3 and Megaboom 3 aren't game-changing, they're definitely the company's best-sounding pure Bluetooth speakers. They look good and are dead simple to use.
The UE Boom 3 Is Good Redesign at Its Best
Two durable Bluetooth speakers- Subtle but brilliant design upgrades
- Sort of useless Magic Button
One of my first Gizmodo stories was about Logitech getting serious about design . It was published a few weeks after the company released the first UE Boom, which we would eventually decide was the best Bluetooth speaker you could buy.
- Subtle but brilliant design upgrades
- Sort of useless Magic Button

UE Megaboom 3 review
The previous generation UE Boom 2 was one of our favorite waterproof speakers of all-time and for good reason – it had a rugged design that could take a beating, got incredibly loud, and sounded great for the money.- Class-leading battery life
- Gets incredibly loud
- Punchy sound
- Recessed mids
- Bass sounds loose at high volume
- Charging dock not included
Ultimate Ears UE Megaboom 3 review: Booming excellence
Ultimate Ears makes some of the best Bluetooth speakers around. If you're in the market for a portable, waterproof speaker that will deliver when it comes to bass and volume, the UE line-up is an excellent place to look.- Great design
- Waterproof and dustproof
- Brilliant sound quality
- Great battery life
- It floats in water
- Boosts bass compared to original model (yay!
- Power Up charging dock not included
- Magic Button playlist feature currently limited
- Won't pair in stereo with original Megaboom (boo!
Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 review
• Buy Megaboom 3 exclusively at John Lewis (until October) The Megaboom 3 improves on the winning formula of its waterproof, cylindrical predecessor, and is an excellent speaker. It's actually only the second Megaboom, but as Ultimate Ears is also putting out a new Boom (a smaller sibling to this)...- Waterproof
- dustproof (IP67 rated) and also floats
- Improved controls and charging port
- Excellent value for money
- Loud
- clear
- bassy audio performance
- If we're nitpicking
- the sound is still good rather than great
UE Megaboom 3 is more durable, has better bass and a 'magic' button
The next generation of Ultimate Ears' larger Megaboom portable Bluetooth speaker is here. Find out what makes it better than its predecessor. Ultimate Ears Boom speakers have been among the most popular portable Bluetooth speakers, and they're now onto their third generation with the arrival of the Boom 3 ($150, £130, $AU200) and Megaboom 3 ($200, £170, $AU300).
