A giant, updated. Apple again positions the iPhone 13 Pro Max as the spear head with absolute top technology in 2021. Keywords are: a 120-Hz ProMotion display, improved cameras, a new Apple A15 chip, and optional 1 TB storage. We take a detailed look at the top model.
Pros:
- high-quality case, extreme amount of optional storage, fast WLAN, many 5G and 4G frequencies, accurate locating, very fast 120-Hz display, very high performance, long battery life
Cons:
- only 12 months of warranty, significant camera bulge, slight throttling under longer load, relatively mediocre charging speed, large notch

Apple's iPhone 13 Pro Is Oddly Light on Pro Features
This year's top-tier iPhones are great, but there are fewer reasons than ever to shell out for them.
Pros:
- Great performance. Battery comfortably lasts a full day, if not a little more. Excellent camera systems. The new Cinematic Mode for videos is tremendously fun. 120-Hz screen refresh rate makes everything look smooth.
Cons:
- Base model starts with just 128 GB of storage, which is far too little. Pro models have fewer of the special features that justify the higher prices.

iPhone 13 Pro Max review
The iPhone 13 Pro Max offers the best battery of any iPhone to date, but the lack of differences between it and the more affordable iPhone 13 Pro – including ProMotion tech and enhanced cameras – make it hard to recommend to most.

iPhone 13 Pro Max review: Is bigger really better?
The iPhone with the biggest screen also delivers the biggest battery capacity of the range, meaning its stamina is epic. Its sheer physical size won't suit all, though, but if you want all the features and all the longevity then it's the ultimate choice - otherwise the Pro model offers all the same features in a smaller package instead.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is a beast with Apple’s biggest screen, longest battery life and highest price. There aren’t many phones that can last more than 48 hours on a charge, particularly with top-class chips, cameras, a 120Hz screen and upwards of six years of software support.
Pros:
- Pros: great cameras, 3x optical zoom, Face ID, very long battery life, great performance, large and brilliant 120Hz screen with smaller notch, 5G, long software support.
Cons:
- Cons: no USB-C, need your own charger, very heavy, very expensive, huge and difficult to use one-handed, not cutting edge compared with folding-screen devices.
