I admit it, we bought this toaster because it looks cool. And in that area, this toaster is a winner.
Great design; looks good on the counter
Overpriced; not as advertised
This toaster had all the features I wanted and it looks good in my kitchen so quite happy with my purchase.
With its high gloss surface, the De'Longhi Icona is a looker
Various toast settings produce a good range of browning; Browns evenly with a single slice; Toasts consistently from batch to batch; Easy to use; Accommodates oversized slices and bagels with a push; With extra lift lever; toast pops up high enough to grab easily
Slow at toasting; Even with extra lift lever; English muffins don't pop up high enough to grab easily; Gets very hot on top; Slight striping on one side of toast
They left the toaster overnight in front of the garage door instead of on the porch. My car was backed in, so I pulled out in the morning and ran over the package with the "Brave Little Toaster" in it. Not happy with delivery service AT ALL.
She was very happy to receive it as a gift.
Some of the elements on one side don't heat evenly. But good enough for me to not bother with returning.
I wanted a smaller toaster with ability to still toast more than bread, this has ot all with style and character which I don't usually worry about
I've had this toaster for 5 months and I am totally pleased with it. It looks great and does the job perfectly. I particularly like the sturdiness of the construction and the fact that the sides only feel warm instead of too hot to touch that you get with the cheaper stainless models.
For those who are used to spending what is a decent amount of money on a toaster this may be surprising, but for me it's been a delight to have a hassle free toaster. After years of the false economy of going for cheap toasters I invested in this and there's no looking back now.
