Fujifilm Fujinon XF 27mm F2.8 R WR Review
The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 27mm F2.8 R WR uses the same optics as an earlier edition of the lens, but adds weather protection and aperture control for $50 less. The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 27mm F2.8 R WR ($399.95) is an updated take on one of the slimmest X series lenses available. It doesn't make changes to the optics used by the earlier XF 27mm F2.8, but updates its housing to include an aperture control ring and weather protection. It's a good fit for prime lens fans and anyone looking to add a featherweight lens to a Fujifilm X camera, but it does make some noise when focusing. If that bugs you, you may want to think about the Editors' Choice award-winning XF 23mm F2 R WR instead, priced just $50 higher.A Pancake Prime with Weather Protection The new Fujinon XF 27mm F2.8 R WR has a bit more word salad in its name than the first edition, the XF 27mm F2.8. Handling and features This compact prime lens for Fujifilm X-series cameras provides a field of view equivalent to a 41mm lens on a 35mm camera and a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture and was introduced alongside the Fujifilm X-M1 camera, which is currently smallest X-series camera available.

Big sensor, small lens. Is this prime lens the ideal compromise for X-series shooters?
FUJIFILM XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR Lens for Fujifilm X - Brand New review
Fuji users are well-served with prime lenses, with focal lengths available from 14mm to 90mm. The 16mm is an excellent example and is well worth the money, especially for those shooting in low-light thanks to that fast f/1.4 aperture.
FUJIFILM XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR Lens for Fujifilm X - Brand New review
Still despite those shortcomings the Fujinon XF 16 mm f/1.4 R WR should be assessed positively. It provides useful images already from the maximum relative aperture, gives you a high resolution level on stopping down and it corrects geometric deformations noticeably better than its rivals; what’s...- too high longitudinal chromatic aberration,, distinct vignetting,, significant coma,, some problems with spherical aberration.

FUJIFILM XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR Lens for Fujifilm X - Brand New review
The Fujinon XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR may not knock your socks off like the XF 90mm f/2 R LM WR but it is a capable performer nonetheless. The center quality is just fine at f/1.4 whereas the corners show some softness - emphasized by field curvature.
