Fujifilm Fujinon XF 35mm F/1.4 R Lens - BRAND NEW review
As you may have noticed in the sample images section I enjoyed my time with Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4 R during a business trip to Japan. Technically it may not be a perfect lens but it is capable of delivering very nice results. The center quality is breathtaking even at max.

Nice while it lasted
I enjoyed using this lens for several days until it suffered "sticky aperture" syndrome. Became unusuable and am waiting a warranty replacement.Given my limited use, I will say it is very, very sharp and a great "normal" lens. Focus speed could be a bit faster (even on X-T1 body) but is acceptable.

A fantastic lens!
What a great lens, sharp as a tack from corner to corner and super fast. It replaced the standard zoom and is the lens on the camera most of the time. A prime lens makes you work a little harder but the results are worth the time spent.

Pros:
- Extremely sharp in the centre when stopped down
- Very good sharpness towards the edges when stopped down
- Very Lightweight
- Traditional design
- Excellent build
Cons:
- Auto focus is a little on the slow side
- Can be tricky to get accurate focus at wide apertures

The Fujifilm Fujinon XF 35mm F1.4 R is a fast, compact standard-angle lens for Fuji mirrorless cameras, but focus is a little slow and edges are on the soft side.

- Sharp center., Uniform illumination., Wide aperture., Nominal distortion., Physical aperture ring.
Cons:
- Soft edges., A bit slow to focus., Electronic manual focus., Omits optical stabilization.

Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4 R
I'll say it here and now - this is one of the best pieces of glass I've owned. It's small, light, beautifully built, has stunning image quality - even wide open it's super-sharp with the smallest amount of softening at the edges.
Pros:
- Pretty much everything
Cons:
- Cannot think of anything

Must buy first lens for your Fuji System
This was my first purchase after getting my X-E2 camera. The reviews on it are amazing and comparable lenses from other manufacturers are upwards of...
Pros:
- Fantastic IQ
- metal build
- small size
- comes with a hood
- very sharp at 1.4
Cons:
- the Autofocus is a tad noisier than other Fuji lenses
