be sure to purchase the extended warranty
We've had our Fujitsu fi-6770A scanner for just over a year. It cost us just over $5,000 new. We scan tens of thousands of documents a week. Less than a year later, the CGA board is bad. According to Fujitsu support, this is a common problem.

Comments about Fujitsu FI-6770: Used the scanner for two months had a hardware problem with the unit and needed service. The warranty does not cover on-site and they wanted to charge me $500.00 to come out on-site for two hours, $65.00 each additional 15 minutes.
