A must have for a paperless office
This is fantastic. I have been paying a significant amount each month for a scanner and the software, including a four figure set up fee and this little machine does it all, and better.

Scannier is adequate
The scanner is a vertical sheet feed scanner and NOT a flatbed scanner as above. The scanner is not that fast and the software is not quite one click. Still it does a good job scanning packs of materials in various resolutions.

A great buy & must have simple machine!
Comments about HP Scanjet N6010: I create my own recipe cards and send them to family members with the family recopies' we have passed down over the years. This scanner was a great help while trying to create the perfect format for the page.
Pros:
- Accurate Color
- Excellent Software

Sweet Success Scanning
Great! I've had a flatbed scanner for years; and yes, I had the automatic document feeder (ADF) to go with it. The ADF never seemed to work and hand placing documents on the flatbed was time consuming. This HP Scanjet N6010 is heaven sent.

HP Scanjet N6010
I love HP printers and I've bought eight of them over the years. I'm disapointed with HP's effort in the scanner department. The product design is almost there, but that lack of speed in producing pdf documents leaves me with a device I can't use.
Pros:
- The four-button design makes it easy to select the most common scanning functions
- The overall design is simple and functional
- Referring to the user guide is really only necessary to remind yourself to install the software before plugging the scanner in to your computer.
Cons:
- The scanner is way too slow for scanning many one or two page documents (like receipts you pull out of your pocket at the end of the day.) You have to push the "Scan to PDF" button for a second or so
- a brief push and nothing will happen.

HP Scanjet N6010
HP's first personal document scanner, the HP Scanjet N6010 ($499 direct) manages to impress me with what it does well-while simultaneously leaving me to wonder, What were they thinking? Indeed, there are a few odd oversights.
Pros:
- Easy to use, with four definable scan buttons
- Excellent choice for document scanning
- Includes indexing software
Cons:
- A little large for a desktop
- Less than ideal for business-card scanning

A heap of junk
Based it seems on the troublesome single central roller technology of their 1990s toaster-format laserjet printers, this scanner guarantees you misfeeds and blockages except for the smallest of documents. I've had nothing but trouble with mine - seriously, spend your money elsewhere.
