In recent years, we've written about a lot of headphones, Bluetooth speakers, and loudspeakers. There is, however, another type of sound system that we rarely see: desktop speaker systems.

Connecting the speakers to my computer running Windows 10 could not have been easier. At 50w, the speakers will not appeal to headbangers, but are sufficient for my purposes, i.e. listening to music while I sit at my computer.

Not because the company has a particular penchant for high-protein foodstuffs, but rather because Kef's up-market surround sound systems were famed for their egg-shaped satellite speakers. Now, Kef has adapted the design for this equally upmarket set of desktop speakers.

I bought then returned it: I didn't like the sound and was very disappointed. It lacks so much authority in bass that it can't really be enjoyed ... The sound is thin and boring. It lacks excitement and dynamic.

Great sound and good quality build, however impossible to use as reliable PC speakers because they seem to be more concerned about preserving power than actually functioning as speakers. The systems keeps going into standby mode after 10-15 minutes of silence.
