Nikon Z5 Mirrorless Camera with 24-50mm Lens VOK040ZA review

“The Nikon Z 5 would be a great entry-level full-frame camera if not for its unreliable low light autofocus and slow burst speed.”

Good image quality; Compact; Affordable; Dual SD Slots

Slow low light autofocus; Inconsistent autofocus in mixed/low light; Slow 4.5 fps burst mode

Nikon Z5 review

Slightly better cameras but otherwise, not much of an update - buy the iPhone 14 Pro or switch to Android instead

Better low-light photography, Slightly longer battery life, Action mode gives super stabilised video

The same performance as the iPhone 13, No Dynamic Island or Always-On display, 60Hz screen

Nikon Z5 review

The iPhone 14 comes to market with the same launch price as the previous generation. At the same time, iPhone connoisseurs were more than disillusioned after the presentation of the new smartphone. Apple leaves large parts of the hardware unchanged and does not dare to change the design.

Top performance level despite last year's chip, Very high quality workmanship, Improved image and video quality, Excellent battery life

Hardly any innovations, Charging takes too long for 2022

Nikon Z5 review

A slight camera upgrade, new emergency features, and... not a whole lot else

Better selfie camera, Good battery life, Crash detection and satellite SOS are neat

It’s more like an iPhone 13S, Display is still 60Hz, eSIM transition will be easy for most but painful for some

Nikon Z5 review

It’s a great handset, but the improvements are so iterative that most of you will hardly notice what’s new.

Action mode offers truly superb video stabilization. eSIM makes it easy to switch phones (with other iPhones). Satellite SOS and Crash Detection add peace of mind.

Many of the specs remain the same as on the iPhone 13. Small battery gains. Photonic Engine isn’t as revolutionary as suggested.

Nikon Z5 Mirrorless Camera with 24-50mm Lens VOK040ZA review

The Nikon Z5 has an enticing set of specifications for the entry-level full-frame user, especially when you consider just how small the camera is. If you are on the lookout for a fantastic everyday or travel camera, or just like the idea of a smaller than usual camera, then the Z5 is certainly...

Solid handling; Great viewfinder; Small and light

Limited frame rate for sports and action; 4K video cropped

Nikon Z5 Mirrorless Camera with 24-50mm Lens VOK040ZA review

The Nikon Z5 is a very solid introduction to the Nikon Z series and the kit lens is a very solid performer as well. There is a considerable saving to be made compared to the Z6 and Z7 and thus it widens the potential market without seriously affecting the end quality.

Excellent quality of results; Superb viewfinder; Dust and drip resistance; Good price point to enter superb Z system; Articulated screen; Built-in VR; Supports focus stacking; WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity; Handles well

Slow AF in low light; No lens hood provided

The Nikon Z5 is a great buy for those brand new to full-frame photography, and it has an appealing range of specifications that should suit lots of different type of photographers.

Great handling; Small and tight – especially with kit lens; Excellent viewfinder

Slow frame rate; Cropped 4K video

Nikon Z5 Mirrorless Camera with 24-50mm Lens VOK040ZA review

The Nikon Z 5 offers a lot for photographers moving from a Nikon SLR system to mirrorless, even though it omits some of the latest bells and whistles to meet its price point.

24MP full-frame sensor; 5-axis IBIS; Tilting touch LCD; High-magnification OLED EVF; Dust and splash protection; Dual UHS-II card slots; Works with Nikon F lenses via adapter

Cropped 4K recording; Autofocus a step behind Canon and Sony; Meager 4.5fps continuous drive; Z lens library still in development; Few third-party Z lenses available
