Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! (Switch)
As someone born in the mid-90s, Pokémon has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I woke up early every morning to watch Pokémon on Cheez TV, with a deck full of Pokémon Cards by my side and my Game Boy in my hands as I watched, so I could find the Pokémon that featured...

Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu (for Nintendo Switch) Review
Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Let's Go, Eevee finally bring full, main-series Pokemon titles to Nintendo Switch in the form of modernized and fairly simple remakes of Pokemon Yellow. Nintendo fans have been asking for a full-fledged, main-series Pokemon game on a home console for nearly two decades. Nintendo's put out plenty of Pokemon spin-off games on consoles, such as Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon Snap, and Pokemon Rumble U, but the major Pokemon releases have all been limited to handheld systems. Thanks to Nintendo Switch, that's no longer the case. Since Switch works both as a home game console and a handheld gaming device, any Pokemon game released for the Switch is playable natively through a system connected to your TV. There's still no word on Pokemon's upcoming eighth generation titles, but you can play modern, complete Pokemon titles on Switch with Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee, which are remakes of a classic Pokemon game. These $59.99 games ($99.99 for a physical bundle including one game and the Poke Ball Plus controller) are fully functional remakes of the first-generation Pokemon Yellow, with all of the graphical enhancem...
Pros:
- Colorful, well-animated HD graphics
- Exploring and catching Pokemon is more convenient, thanks to visible wild Pokemon and Pokemon Go elements
Cons:
- Only 153 total Pokemon to find
- Fairly simple experience compared with the later-generation Pokemon games

If ever there was a franchise ripe for reinvention, it is Pokémon , which for over two decades has managed to appeal to the hardest of hardcore gamers (even if as a secret, guilty pleasure) and the most casual of fans.
