Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra reviewed: slick and future-friendly
While the changes are minor and clearly not for anyone with last year’s phone, or even possibly the S23 Ultra before it , folks with slightly older variations may want to consider a move to the new model.
Pros:
- Simply one of the most powerful phones on market, Premium design and materials with a titanium frame, Camera has some solid chops, You get the S-Pen stylus (if you want it), Water resistance
Cons:
- Design is a little iterative, Camera could still do with some more polish, AI features may not set your world on fire, No Qi2 charging

Cons:
- Nerfed S Pen, Minimal changes beyond its one camera and design, Agentic Gemini AI is slightly more helpful than Skynet in Terminator movies

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is its best Android smartphone yet. In almost every area, it offers top-drawer specs and performance.
Pros:
- Slightly less reflective flat Gorilla Armor 2 and a bright display., Battery life is good, but heavy users will need to recharge daily., The camera is good but not class-leading. Needs more work., Powerful SoC but throttles terribly.
Cons:
- Colour inaccurate image preview 8-bit display., USB-C is not fully implemented., Charging speed is not class-leading, and fast charging requires a Samsung-specific charger., Not enough hardware changes to jsutify updating your old Ultra., Samsung’s ecosystem is heading toward Apple’s walled garden.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is an exercise in refinement, showcasing the best Android has to offer. The now iconic design has been upgraded with more screen thanks to less bezel, the new rounded corners bring enhanced comfort, while the camera gets a much-needed wide-angle boost.
Pros:
- Wide-angle camera upgraded to 50MP and includes macro function, Integrated S Pen stylus like nothing else out there, Iconic design looks even more refined, Oodles of power and solid battery life
Cons:
- The S24 Ultra is similar – and price-slashed to point of distraction, Macro camera function is poorly integrated at this stage, The AI upsell just isn't as comprehensive as could be

Some may say the Galaxy S25 Ultra doesn’t look any different from the S24 Ultra. Well, they are not wrong. The S25 Ultra, as I mentioned before, is all about the new AI experiences—and Samsung isn’t hiding that. Honestly, it’s also a good thing.
