Quite simply, the Sony A7R III is a ludicrously brilliant camera, and one of the very best on the market.
Pros:
- Phenomenal image quality in almost any situation, Extremely fast and responsive, Compact, lightweight design with well-placed controls, Superb electronic viewfinder, In-body image stabilisation gives sharper images with any lens
Cons:
- AF area is invisible when moved using the joystick, Rear screen only tilts up or down, Handgrip too close to the lens for shooting with gloves

- Battery life could still be better, Limited touchscreen control, Only one SD slot supports UHS-II cards

While it has the same pixel count as its predecessor, the 42.4Mp Sony Alpha A7R III makes some major enhancements on the camera it replaces. As well as improve handling, there’s faster shooting, more decisive focusing and better image quality. Consequently, the Sony A7R III is a phenomenal camera.
Pros:
- High-quality full-frame 42Mp sensor, 10fps continuous shooting, Silent shutter possible at 10fps
Cons:
- Limited use made of the touch-screen, Complex menu that could still be better arranged, Only one SD slot is UHS-II compliant

It's fair to say that the Sony a7R III is a great option for an incredibly wide variety of photographers. Offering great image quality, fast burst shooting speeds, high quality 4K video and a reasonably compact package, it's an incredibly well-rounded offering.
Pros:
- Hybrid stills and video shooters, photographers looking for a versatile tool for a wide range of subjects in a compact package.
Cons:
- Those that need the absolute best in autofocus tracking, those that require even faster burst speeds.

Sony's Alpha A7r Mark III is a highly capable camera that's equally at home shooting high resolution stills as it is handling fast action or filming quality video. The 42 Megapixel full-frame sensor may be inherited from the Mark II but Sony's improved the processing to deliver superb quality.
