Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Review
Another Nazi-blasting triumph, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is the perfect companion piece to The New Order, and proof positive that MachineGames knows exactly what it's doing with the series. The Old Blood is more of the same, which is certainly no bad thing.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood review
If all that is expected of an expansion or spin-off is to deliver more of the same, then The Old Blood goes above and beyond its obligations. The decision to downplay the story elements does sometimes leave it feeling a bit overwhelming and stodgy - the textures and rhythms that made its predecessor...
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Review
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood doubles down on blood and guts, but in doing so sacrifices some of its heart.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
MachineGames hasn't taken a huge step forward with 'Wolfenstein: The Old Blood,' but nor have they taken any steps backwards. It is a solid expansion, adding more to the new 'Wolfenstein' formula without drastically changing it.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Review – Chaotic Nazi Killing Carnage at Its Best
There is something to be said about taking a no nonsense approach with a game's DLC plans. When so many shooters pepper you with season pass offers, map packs and other downloadable add-ons all for a hefty charge, Machine Games and Bethesda have decided to take a more simplistic approach by...
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
Bethesda and Machine Games surprised many with their mature and very serious (not to mention rather sad) take on the PC classic Wolfenstein with The New Order . Naturally, their prequel for The New Order, artfully named The Old Blood, is anything but mature, serious, or sad.- Fun mockery of B-movies and both Nazi and gaming cliches
- same solid gameplay from The New Order
- and more Nightmare Levels keep The Old Blood vastly entertaining
- Combat is incredibly twitchy
- focuses too much on stealth without much variety between levels
- and not much has been added to set The Old Blood too far apart from The New Order other than the timeline
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Adds New Action
I have to admit, last year, I never saw Wolfenstein: The New Order coming. After all, the previous Wolfenstein game was rather forgettable, and I expected the same thing from Machine Games' 2014 release. Thankfully I was wrong.
This game isn't that innapropiate
Wolfenstein the new order was much more inappropriate than this game. In this game you can take down people with guns and knives. The main reason this game is violent and disturbing is because, just like in the New order, you can murder dogs brutally. Swear words can be heard frequently.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is very much an expansion of its fun, entertaining predecessor, but doesn't quite pack the same emotional clout. Still, a great FPS worthy of your attention.- Satisfying shooting
- Strong pacing despite its diminutive length
- Looks great
- with beautiful set-pieces
- Works as a standalone game
- A rough stealth section early on
- Weaker story than The New Order
Wolfenstein The Old Blood
Great game!
