Wolfenstein: The Old Blood doubles down on blood and guts, but in doing so sacrifices some of its heart.
It's been just long enough for the memory of the New Order to fade that another taste of the excellent formula created by MachineGames is enjoyable to...
Fun combat; Great Value; Excellent recreation of Castle Wolfenstein
More combat focused; Predictable Nazi Zombies
Great game!
Game is a little on the short side its very fun. It's the First Wolfenstein game I've played since the original on PC back in the 90's. Pretty good shooter, cool maps. Wish it had an online mode or Zombies wave mode though. Buy it, you'll probably enjoy it
Wolfenstein the new order was much more inappropriate than this game. In this game you can take down people with guns and knives. The main reason this game is violent and disturbing is because, just like in the New order, you can murder dogs brutally. Swear words can be heard frequently.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is very much an expansion of its fun, entertaining predecessor, but doesn't quite pack the same emotional clout. Still, a great FPS worthy of your attention.
Satisfying shooting; Strong pacing despite its diminutive length; Looks great; with beautiful set-pieces; Works as a standalone game
A rough stealth section early on; Weaker story than The New Order
All in all, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is a fantastic game that could have easily been sold for more than the $20 asking price. The fact that it is just $20, however, makes it extremely easy to recommend.
Incredible value; fun, straightforward, oldschool gameplay; nice presentation
Weak first level; huge file size; picking up every item individually
Last year, MachineGames surprised a lot of people with Wolfenstein: The New Order . The presentation was top notch, and the gunplay was solid with some clever ideas. It was the story, however, that really shone because it had more gut-wrenching scenes and heart than most games in the last few years,...
MachineGames hasn't taken a huge step forward with 'Wolfenstein: The Old Blood,' but nor have they taken any steps backwards. It is a solid expansion, adding more to the new 'Wolfenstein' formula without drastically changing it.
Impressive effort with a few noticeable problems holding it back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth most people's time and cash.
