Apple's smallest tablet is still leading its field....
Got this for my mum. She loves it. She used to have an e-reader, but syncing books things from library was very fiddly. The new iPad mini was easy to set up, straight from the (very) old iPad (which didn't have a good enough screen for ebooks). The screen on this new one is brilliant.
A decent sized tablet - light, speedy and practical for carrying around or prolonged use. Has same crazy fast cpu as the latest iPhone 13 and a much bigger screen size but costs half the price. The USB C is great for connecting non-thunderbolt accessories too.
The new iPad mini is not for everyone, but for those of you who like the compact format, it is the best tablet purchase you can make.
A15 Bionic processor, USB-C, enhanced camera with "In Focus", 5G and high-quality iconic Apple design, In addition, travel-friendly and compact.
The IPS screen is not up to date, and could have been brighter anyway.
The iPad mini 6 is much better looking, more powerful and more versatile than its predecessor, and the portable nature will appeal to many - you just need to decide whether the price increase is worth it for your needs.
Portable one-handed design; Incredible A15 Bionic performance; Detailed display; Apple Pencil 2 support;
No Smart Connector for Magic Keyboard; Big price increase; Not suited to split-screen use;
For many users, it will be hard to figure out exactly where the 2021 iPad Mini fits in their day-to-day life. But the iPad Mini isn’t for those people. This tablet is for those who already know exactly what they would use it for. Perhaps it’s to replace your phone around the house.
The iPad mini is without doubt the best small tablet you can buy, but unlike most rivals at this size it is not a cheap machine. The screen is excellent and big enough to be usable for most things despite the tablet’s almost-pocketable size.
Pros: compact design, great performance, 10-hour battery life, great screen, USB-C, iPadOS, plenty of apps, great speakers, great mics, brilliant video-call camera, very long software support, recycled aluminium.
Cons: expensive, small size is cramped for some applications, no smart keyboard support, relatively small storage on the starting model with no way to add more.
